They were joined by the General Treasurer of the Society, Fr Sebastian Jeerakassery and his assistant Fr Jean Baptiste Ganza as well as the JCAM President, Fr Minaku and Fr Hamill the JCAM Treasurer.
Presentations from all seven Provinces were shared with discussions between each and much learning for all. On the final day the Bursars of the Common Centres of Formation, (Arrupe, ITCJ and Hekima) presented their 2027 budgets to the Treasurers prior to these being presented to the JCAM Plenary – the meeting of JCAM Provincials in October, whose job it is to approve them.
The presence of our brothers from the General Curia was of greatest value offering clear and unambiguous direction as to what is expected of those who have care of the Temporal Affairs of the Society. So too the full and insightful welcoming remarks from the JCAM President who was present throughout the meeting and contributed to the informing of the General Treasurer as to the state of financial affairs within the Conference as well as other pertinent and developing issues. The enormous help which has been given to the Conference for the area of formation was also recognised as truly transformative.
Alongside the working sessions there were times of prayer and reflection as well as the chance to see and enjoy some of what Nairobi has to offer its visitors. And the meeting concluded with a fine dinner hosted by the AOR Treasurer, Fr Evarist Shigi.
Many thanks to AOR Province and its Provincial, Fr Kizito Kiyimba for their kind hospitality and to Fr. Kiyimba for joining us for our opening eucharist.
