On January 3, 2020, Jesuits all over the world celebrate Feast of the Holy Name of Jesus (Titular Feast of Jesuits), on this day we celebrate the gift of the Society. For us in Africa and Madagascar, this day marked a new beginning for the newly built Africama House, the headquarters of the Jesuit Conference of Africa and Madagascar (JCAM). His Eminence John Cardinal Njue, Metropolitan Archbishop of Nairobi graced the blessing and dedication ceremony of the building. Africama House is an eco-friendly building constituted by features like renewable energy and recycling systems.
The JCAM President offered welcome words to the Cardinal and to all present before the blessing and dedication ceremony begun.

Cardinal Njue then presided over the procession comprised of Jesuits, collaborators, and friends of Jesuits as they made their way around the building in prayer and thanksgiving to God.

The Cardinal also blessed the office space and the chapel. The ceremony was marked by prayer and gratitude to all the benefactors who even though were not present, were well acknowledged in a donor recognition plaque posted on the wall of the chapel.
As the event came to a close, Fr Agbonkhianmeghe Orobator SJ, the JCAM President offered a gift to His Eminence John Cardinal Njue in gratitude and in honour of the blessing and dedication ceremony, also thanking all for attending.
Food and refreshments were served at the end of the ceremony in gratitude!
