"I am grateful and happy to be in Chad"

Arturo Sosa SJ, Father General of the Society of Jesus arrived in the West Africa Province (AOC). Hours before he arrived in Chad, Father Agbonkhianmeghe Orobator SJ, President of JCAM, sent a message welcoming him while assuring him that he would appreciate the dynamism, energy, and passion of the Jesuits and of their collaborators in fulfilling the mission of the Society of Jesus in this part of the world.

Father Hyacinthe Loua SJ, Provincial of AOC, Bishop Henry Coudray (Jesuit and Apostolic Vicar of Mongo in Chad since 2009), Fr. Gheraldi and Fr. Koulyo arrived at the N'Djamena International airport to receive Father General who arrived in the evening of April 16th. From the Airport, they proceeded to the community of Saint Paul Miki of Ndjamena where several Jesuits and their collaborators were waiting for him.

Father General's visit to West Africa Province is from April 16 to 22, 2019. After Chad, he will be leaving for Cameroon.

The West Africa Province is the largest province in the Society of Jesus, accommodating 14 countries namely: Benin, Burkina-Faso Cameroon, Central African Republic, Congo, Ivory Coast, Gabon, Guinea Conakry, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Senegal, Chad and Togo.
