JCAM President visits Tertians in Cape Town

JCAM President Tertianship Visitation

From 9 to 12 March Fr. Orobator SJ did his visitation of the community: He presided at the Mass on Sunday; On Monday he spoke to the group about the Universal Apostolic Preferences of the Society and had a session with the tertians on their own. On Tuesday he gave points for a day of recollection before departing for Nairobi. On Sunday David Rowan and Bruce Botha also were in Stellenbosch for a meeting with Orobator, Mike Lewis and Jim McGloin to lay some ground rules in considering a permanent site for the tertianship.

On Wednesday, 13 March, Rampe Hlobo presided at a Mass to officially close this first session of the tertianship. We thanked God for the great set of tertians that we had to begin this new venture and for seeing it to a successful ending. Afterwards, there was a braai at the dam at which Rampe, Chris Chatteris (who had given a presentation on Laudato Si and vocation promotion the previous week), Br Terry Dowling (our host at Stellenbosch CBC), Colleen and Jolene joined the tertian community. By noon the next day, we all had left the Centre for the airport or the Elms in Cape Town. The last of the tertians left Cape Town on the following Tuesday.
