The representatives of the restructuring committee of Southern Africa joined the Zambia-Malawi Province celebration of St Ignatius Day, at St Ignatius parish. The members of the committee wanted to be there as a visible sign of our commitment to the process of restructuring. This was seen as an eschatological precursor of the unity we would be living in 2021. After a joyful mass there was dinner with all Jesuits and invited Guests.
The restructuring coordinating committee of Southern Africa met at Kisisi in Lusaka on the 1st and 2nd of August to continue with planning the implementation of the Joint Apostolic Plan of the South African Region, the Zambia-Malawi Province and the Zimbabwe-Mozambique Province. Progress reports were received from various committees and plans made for the next six months until the committee meets again. The atmosphere was on the whole reflective and prayerful as the group focused on what would be most helpful to the Mission of the Society in Southern African. It was consoling to read the feedback from communities regarding the Joint Apostolic Plan reflection.
